Central Air Conditioning
What you need to know about air conditioners
The efficiency of an air conditioner or heat pump is determined by the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficient Ratio) Rating. The higher the SEER, the more energy efficient the system is, and the lower the operating costs. The lowest SEER rating is a 13 and the highest is a 21.
Why is this so important?
Having the right size air conditioner is critical. If your A/C is too large it will ice up the indoor coil and not work properly. If it is too small it will run all day costing you more money on your power bill. Western Heating & Air Conditioning can do a load calculation on your home to make sure that it is sized right. This will enable us to design the best system for your home.
