I was able to get a next day appointment from when I called. That was the first nice thing. The company called me before the appointment to let me know when the technicians were 15 minutes out. I liked that a lot. When the technicians arrived, they wore little boot covers to not damage the carpets. Another bonus. They were very polite and courteous when they asked to be directed to thermostats and furnaces, and were pleasant to talk to, but didn't make me feel like I had to stick around talking to them. They diagnosed the issues, explained the basics to me, then excused themselves to their truck outside to contact my landlord and make arrangements before coming back in and fixing the problems. I really appreciated that, because just hours before, a different tech from a plumbing company came, but he just sat on my stairs holding me hostage in my own home until he got my landlord on the phone to explain things and take payment, and made me kind of stand there on standby during the whole conversation. It was awkward, I heard him repeat my landlord's credit card info, etc. So when Western Heating and Air showed up later that day for this other issue, and they were professional enough to go have their conversations with my landlord outside in their vehicle so I could keep going about my business uninterrupted in my home, I really appreciated that. Western ended up replacing a thermostat for me, and when it was time to leave, they came and found me, let me know what they had done, asked me what I wanted it set to, set it for me, and then told me where they had left the instruction manual. All in all, very kind and professional. I would recommend them. I can't speak to the pricing, because my landlord chose the company and footed the bill, so I don't know anything about how competitive their costs are. but I like everything else about the company.
Since I signed up for the prepaid maintenance service I don't worry about sudden breakdowns and I know I am increasing the life span for my furnace and air conditioning units.
